What IS Kinderdance:
stretching, strengthening, and coordination exercises introduced in classical ballet/ feet and arm positions; basic ballet exercises, learning French terminology with movement; motor skills introduced in Kinderdance evolve into ballet steps (step slide becomes chassé); refinement of motor skills (hop from two feet to one foot, skip in different directions, leap in a specific pattern); turning and spotting. These 45 minute classes are offered for 3 to 5 year old students. This energetic and fun introduction to dance involves co-ordination & rhythm exercises, music appreciation. The child will learn body awareness & creative movement as well.
KINDERDANCE

Starting Young

The greatest gift that we have as parents and as a community are our children, in them we can see so much, our dreams for the future and our hopes for a better world. Inside every child there is a fountain of creativity but not every child knows how to access it, we need to help introduce, guide and nurture their creative spirits. I believe that this can be done through Dance; in an atmosphere of fun and learning a child can flourish as an individual and as a member of a group. Kinderdance is a popular program at the Hudson Dance Center, it offers an excellent variety of ballet related songs and games, costumes and other visual aids: all of this creates a really fun way to learn ballet. The thirty week program provides not only the classical basics but introduces theater and character dance which helps prepare children for their year end performance. In the program there are four levels to choose from, so there is one right for every child.
It is through dance that the body learns the importance of proper alignment, muscle conditioning and spatial awareness. The child who learns to dance develops good social and physical skills that will be helpful throughout life, Movement is a universal language that all children can speak, understand and relate too. A dance program, like Kinderdance can help your child take his or her first steps towards a mature, balanced, healthy way of life and just might lead them towards the stars!
